Exclusive to The Autonomy Hotline, our ANCHOR Programme is every parent and caregivers guide to navigating the incredibly stressful world of social care involvement.
When a family member is undergoing a ‘best interests test’ in the courts or social services – whether that’s a child, a young person without capacity, or an elderly loved one – it is easy to feel completely overwhelmed with the paperwork and legal responsibilities that follow. We have often given similar advice to various cases that fall within the ‘Best Interests’ framework nationally (and sometimes internationally), and we have managed to condense the vital points needed for nearly every client into this one course.
The ANCHOR programme is a series of 6 workshops designed to steer you through the legal jargon so you can remain firmly in control.
The tips included here are the basics, the first steps towards getting things on track, and are useful to go alongside traditional legal advice, rather than an alternative. However, in some circumstances, the content may help those unable to get legal aid and are forced to self-represent.
We are running a rolling programme at Bournemouth Relate (Unit 1 Stratfield Saye, 20-22 Wellington Road, Bournemouth. BH8 8JN) to trial the pace and content in-person (see dates below), as well as offer the chance of our clients and members to attend live on-line. We will then launch an on-line version of the programme, which will condense the recorded in-person meetings into 6 sessions.
PRICES:
The Anchor programme will replace the membership system for new clients. Existing members can negotiate the costs based on previous donations made. Email us upon booking to discuss. If clients are struggling to cover costs, please speak to us about a discounted place or monthly instalments that work for you. We understand that things are financially difficult for most families at the moment, so we would like to ensure that you can have access to the support without worrying about the cost.
The course will be split into 6 sections. Each section is £12.50. If you come to one of our sessions on-line or in-person we will cover 2 sessions per live booking. £12.50 x 2 = £25.00 (or £75 up front).
To go on our RECORDINGS waiting list, please pay a deposit of £25 via Stripe platform.
A free Q & A is offered on Monday 24th February at 11am – please register and a zoom link will be sent.
In-person course dates: 10.30am – 1.30pm – MONDAYS in 2025: 24th March, 28th April, 19th May, 23rd June.
There will be only 12 places available for each session, book quickly to avoid disappointment!
